There’s been rumours… and lots of talking!! But ‘Wave Slalom’ needs to happen again. Foil racing is great and is the easiest for organisers to get a result. But Wave slalom needs to happen..

Please let this come back again, would be amazing for the sport, especially with drone footage!!
Fondly remember the PBA Brighton event and it was amazing seeing the top names battle it off and onto the beach.

In the same way F1 and Moto GP skippers compete in different type of circuits with different conditions (slow, fast, dry, wet) why windsurf slalom skippers compete always on flat water? Foils took advantage of this modern way of slalom competition. Even some sails brands call their slalom sails as “flat water” sails. Why? Who said slalom is for flat water only? PWA managers, please look at the past, look back at brave windsurfers, look at this amazing video and please consider the possibility of including some espectacular wave-slalom events for the future. I do think it is more espectacular seeing these types of races then foilers catapulting on flat water.

“Le Man” starts from the beach and arrival on the beach + creating a specific class for no cam slalom sails competitions (less expensive gear) + giving points in wave sailing for the most beautiful jibes and transitions (no standstill “wait on the wave” nor poor “utility” jibes anymore) are some of the key factors to make Windsurfing desirable again in the eyes of the public and to give taste to young people for windsurfing (and perhaps also to explain them that windsurf build muscles and a general fitness of scale unmacthed by kitesurfing or wingfoiling … All those who kitessurf and wingfoil agree inded on a much less muscular and physical demanding activity compared to windsurfing). This last point could also be appealing for young and growned up people.
