You got to give it to K4 Fins and Steve Thorp they are really putting the time in to develop their product.
I mean in doing this test he even got attached by a DOG!!! …if you haven’t seen that video check it out here : https://windsurfing.tv/video/dog-attacks-windsurfer-steve-thorp/
So what were K4 fins testing? See below and a summary sheet…
Testing 19 different wave board set ups on the speed strip at West Kirby. Single, twin, quad, tri with various toe angles, cants and foils put through their paces. 3 runs per set up and results obtained using Hero5 footage with gps setting and more accurately 2 GT31 gps units. With the mirror flat water it was not only a good test of top speeds but also early planing, acceleration, gybing and upwind.

The differences seem to be micro..
yep.. exactly what i was thinking. A lot of it all comes down to feel. Low end drive, early planning, hold in the turn, drive off the bottom… is what you really want to find out about. I’ll give steve a call… a wonder how you test those things 🙂 Still interesting to see the speeds
I don’t think the diferences are micro. Some setups are clearly faster than other after the jibe, and in competition probably can make a big diference. For the regular user, well it depends on what you like or feel better
