#8 – Ricardo Campello – Money, Ex Brand managers and why he’s never scared – The Windsurfing Podcast
Ricardo needs no introduction. Teenage freestyle phenom turned ballziest wave sailor of all time, he sits down with Maciek to talk about it all. From why he didn’t finish school to how he refused to ride a thruster at a JP photo shoot – one of the many times he made brand manager Martin Brandner absolutely crazy. Candid as ever Ricardo opens up about working on his mindset, maturing and what if he never gets that Wave World Title he so dearly craves.
Welcome to ‘The Windsurfing Podcast’ this is where we are going to dive deep into the world of professional windsurfing. World Champions, legends, shapers, activists, industry members, media people… they will all get grilled by Maciek Rutkowski – a professional windsurfer himself, PWA race winner, podium finisher, and, by his own admission, the sports biggest fan. Sit back, grab a drink, and enjoy an exclusive look into the minds of windsurfing’s most interesting people.

Thank you Maciek for your intelligent interviews. I always look forward to watching them and your insight is interesting and seems well balanced.
For all of you profssional windsurfers, it is obvious that it is challenging (to say the least), dealing with contract negotiations and the lack of money/support that you all deserve.
As for Riccardo Campello, I was a bit disappointed in his responses and frankly somewhat childish behavior. Even if he was right on some points, he seems to finger point but offer no solutions or even willingness to participate in any efforts to improve matters.
Keep up your great work Maciek. It’s a small windsurfing world, and the efforts that you are making to bring more to the public eye in the interest of windsurfing are appreciated.
Cheers from San Francisco, CA
