#22 John Skye: “Drawing sails with crayons in class really set me up for the future”

John Skye had pretty much no chance of becoming a professional windsurfer. Growing up in Luton, landlocked minus a local lake, started windsurfing late, full university degree and a late start on the freestyle tour doesnt sound like a recipe for a great career. Yet hear he is almost 20 years and multiple podiums later having carved out a hell of a life for himself and his family, now also designing sails for RRD. How the hell did he do it? Tune in and find out

Welcome to ‘The Windsurfing Podcast’ this is where we are going to dive deep into the world of professional windsurfing. World Champions, legends, shapers, activists, industry members, media people… they will all get grilled by Maciek Rutkowski – a professional windsurfer himself, PWA race winner, podium finisher, and, by his own admission, the sports biggest fan. Sit back, grab a drink, and enjoy an exclusive look into the minds of windsurfing’s most interesting people.
